Learn The History of Jesus Christ

Daniel Millions asked:

All throughout the Old Testament are various prophecies detailing the coming of the Messiah. The biblical text are numerous and telling of the life of the Lord. Fast forward through time centuries later and you will come to the birth of Jesus Christ. Many have tried unsuccessfully to try and discredit not only Jesus as being the Son Of God but also his very existence. By using the scriptures themselves in addition to archeology and other historical records aside of the bible, it is easy to disprove the doubters. Such scriptures as 1 Timothy Chapter 3 Verse 16 clearly state this:

Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

With the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ in around 33 A.D., Christianity was then born. The exact location of when followers of Jesus Christ started calling themselves Christians is recorded in the book of Acts Chapter 11 Verse 26:

And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

One future prophecy mentioned in the book of Matthew is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ would be preached in the whole world, to all nations and then the end would come. With all of the satellite technology that available, we are very close to all nations hearing the Gospel. This belief in Jesus Christ has withstood the test of time and its influence is everywhere.

Many people often assume that other religions with a form of Christianity are indeed Christian. This is completely false. Other religions such as Seventh Day Adventist, Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witness to name a few, are not the same as biblically based Christianity. Despite what the Pope of Rome has said about churches outside of the Roman Catholic system not being church’s in its proper sense. Having knowledge of what the bible actually says is the best way to determine which are Christian and which ones are not.

The only problem for those outside of what the bible says and teaches is that the bible itself is the measuring stick of the faith. So if those religions aren’t using the bible as a gauge of belief, then they must be using a man made system. You have to understand that for a Christian, the bible is the THE word of God. Several verses exemplify this but none quite as plain as 2 Timothy Chapter 3 Verse 16 and 17:

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

When you view the life of a Christian from the standpoint of biblical doctrine, there shouldn’t be any confusion as to the way believers are to live. Sadly after nearly two millennium of Christianity underway, much of the world is still completely ignorant as to what Christians adhere to. The only way to know for sure is studying the bible and prayer.

Finding Jesus

james wm.pandeli asked:

Finding Jesus

by James Wm. Pandeli

(Prerequisite readings: ‘Oh Albania, My Poor Albania’, 1980 {book}; ‘Language of God’, 2003

{essay}. )

Finding the burial place of Jesus is an important matter. I do not mean the place where Jesus was initially buried and then, according to the New Testament, rose days later. I am referring to the burial place where his people took the body, after allowing prophecy requirements to be satisfied, to a final resting place.

The religious and historical experts have been looking in all the wrong places. It is my contention that Jesus was buried on an ‘island in the west’. It could be Britain, Gibralter, Malta, or on an island in a river in the area of his crucifixtion, or some other island place that is significant to his life as a Jew, a rabbi, and/or as the son of the Virgin Mary - herself a symbol

of the sacred Mother Earth of the prehistoric era.

As the result of my research into Albanian history, Greek Literature and the subsequent theory that I have developed, I have concluded that the Greek god, Kronus, who was the son of Ouranos, the first god, was synonomous with the son of God in the New Testament, Jesus. I do not suggest that there are other similarities with regard to either the Greek or Judaic cultures. It is within the Albanian (Illyrian) context that this conclusion is based - and that is that Kronus, in the evolution of religion, is synonomous with Jesus - the Son of God.

The Albanian context: The translation of the name ‘Kronus’ in Albanian is ‘He - I’, ‘Kr - Oun’. Both the ‘Kr’ and ‘Oun’ survive as Albanian pronouns, ‘He’ and ‘I’. When this theory was developing I felt compelled to repeat ‘He - I’ a number of times, then I concluded that the completed meaning of this combination of pronouns was probably ‘He is I’. That is, either God comes to Earth as a mortal or sends his Son. In Albanian, ‘He is I’ would tranlate as

‘Kr esht Oun’. The second and third syllable represents what evolved in Albanian as the word for Saturday, E Shtune, (the sixth or seventh day?; the Sabbath or the day before?). According to the Bible, God made heaven and earth and man, all within six days and then the seventh day would be the day of rest, the Sabbath. (Now, just what is the story of this God coming to Earth as a mortal, or sending his Son as a man - some calling him ‘Messiah’ - has not yet

been discovered or understood within the Albanian context. What is interesting is that there was a ‘Ker’ in Greek Mythology - something to do with the ‘Fates’, the ‘end of Man’…).

One version of the burial of Kronus, the Greek god (?), was that he was sent to an ‘island in the west’, possibly Britain (Isle of Man?). Could it be that some other prophecy from the prehistoric era was also fulfilled - hence a final resting place? In Albanian the word for ‘west’ is ‘perendim’. The word for ‘God’ or ‘godlike’ is ‘Perendia’.

Finally, two things should be mentioned and understood: First a quote from Herodotus (Greek historian, c.485-425 B.C.), “From what parents the gods are derived or whether they were in existence from all time, and what they are like in shape, the Greeks do not know till this day when I write these lines…” (Book II, 53). Second, Albanian (Illyrian) is the oldest language in

Europe, and has been compared to Etruscan (’The Etruscans Begin to Speak’, Z. Mayani). Albanian is also similar to Thracian - ‘Thrace’…There is no well-defined difference between aboriginal Thracian and Illyrians. Thus there was an Illyrian tribe Brygi (riverbank); a Thracian tribe, Bryges; and in Strabo’s time, a tribe called Dardani (Kosova), then reckoned Illryian, living next to the Thracian Bessi (Bessa: a prehistoric religious concept that is recognized

even today in the Albanian culture) in whose land was the oldest oracle of Dionysus, were probably as much Thracian as Illyrian. (-Enc. Britannica, 1963, ‘Thace’, Vol.22, p.22. Also See ‘Oh Albania, My Poor Albania’, p.36). Recently, it has been suggested that the Thracian Civilization was as old as Mesopotamia (7000 B.C.). It was in Mesopotamia where the first parts of the Bible were compiled by the Jews and there is evidence that there were common stories and legal and religious commandments throughout the contemporary groups.

Jesus Christ, Superman Part Three

Linda Dipman asked:

It’s a bird. . It’s a plane. . No! It’s Jesus Christ, Superman, Savior of the world! Jesus had to be attuned to the spiritual part of life so He could do battle with more than the seen of our present day world. He had to do battle with Satan and the evil he would perpetrate on all those who would choose to follow Him.

An audience of beautiful shimmering angels stood before the magnificent throne of God. The power that emanated from the Lord God Almighty could be felt spreading a warm sensation of adoring love reverberating into the hearts of all those who stood before His presence. Millions of voices could be heard chanting.

Revelation 4:11, “‘Our Lord and God! You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and power. For you created all things, and by your will they were given existence and life.’”

In one great swoop of fan fair an angel more beautiful than any creature appeared before the throne. With him were a group of angels clad in armor and holding weapons of war. The music of praise quieted as Lucifer spoke to God.

His words brought sounds of war into the ranks of the council of elders that surrounded God’s throne. A battle broke out in Heaven with the Devil and His Angels being cast down to earth to wage war against all those who follow the lamb of God.

Satan asked for permission to test Jesus Christ and His disciples. He desired to put negative thoughts into the minds of the Pharisees and teachers of the Law so they would be threatened by how many were following Jesus. His ultimate goal was to make the religious teachers want to put Jesus to death.

God, understanding all things, accepted Satan’s challenge to test Jesus Christ and His followers. Raising the royal scepter of imperial power, God granted Satan and his demon angels permission to leave. At once they took flight to earth possessed with a determination to defeat the Son of God and put an end to everything He was teaching the people.

The guardian angels of God’s chosen children felt a wave of alarm for the lives of their charges. They immediately sent warnings into the thoughts of the disciples. A strong defense of angels surrounded the man Jesus Christ giving Him the courage to stand up and fight against the unseen battle of demons that were determined to defeat Him before the chosen time.

Matthew 5:17-20, “Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true. Remember that as long as heaven and earth last, not the least point not the smallest detail of the Law will be done away with-not until the end of all things. So then, whoever disobeys even the least important of the commandments and teaches others to do the same, will be least in the Kingdom of heaven. On the other hand, whoever obeys the Law and teaches others to do the same, will be great in the Kingdom of heaven. I tell you, then, that you will be able to enter the Kingdom of heaven only if you are more faithful than the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees in doing what God requires.”

The disciples understood the Laws and they followed them, but they were shocked at Jesus’ final words. How could they possibly be more righteous than the Pharisees? Jesus began again teaching them the fundamentals of placing their faith in Him and asking Him to forgive them for their sins.

Jesus was laying the foundation for His disciples concerning the rules behind the game of life. At the time of Moses the rules of engagement in the game of life depended on how closely a person knew and practiced every Law. Now that Jesus would be the sacrifice for all sins the Law changed to that of grace.

This new teaching enables all God’s children to fight individually for God. Suddenly a different kind of world arose giving people the ability to stand up against the supernatural unseen world that wars against every person’s life.

The Law is the rule book for the game of life for all people. At the end of all things, those who do not place their faith in Jesus will be judged according to the Law. But those who have the Spirit of God written in their hearts will have the freedom that comes with God becoming their rule book separate from the Law.

Hebrews 8: 10&11, “Now, this is the covenant that I will make with the people of Israel in the last days to come, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. None of them will have to teach his fellow citizen or tell his fellow countryman, ‘Know the Lord.’ For they will all know me, from the least to the greatest.”

This new teaching gave every child of God the ability to disregard the Law if that is what they had to do in order to win a battle against Satan. The Law locks people into behaving a certain way but grace allows all people the freedom to make a choice that may be contrary to the Law.

Now they could eat any kind of food without being condemned. Now they had the power to love their children who were born with deformities because their weaknesses were no longer considered sin. Now they had the ability to love their neighbor instead of judging them. Grace gave them the power to be a Law within themselves. Laws that allowed them to love even the Gentile nations that ruled their country.

Placing their faith in Jesus as the Savior of the world opened up a whole different way to view their world. The disciples were mystified at the power of the Holy Spirit and how it could change the circumstances of all people’s lives. They Praised God! Jesus Immediately explained the parable of the sower.

Matthew 13:18-23, “Listen, then, and learn what the parable of the sower means. Those who hear the message about the Kingdom but do not understand it are like the seeds that fell along the path. The Evil One comes and snatches away what was sown in them. The seeds that fell on rocky ground stand for those who receive the message gladly as soon as they hear it. But it does not sink deep into them, and they don’t last long. So when trouble or persecution comes because of the message, they give up at once. The seeds that fell among thorn bushes stand for those who hear the message; but the worries about this life and the love for riches choke the message, and they don’t bear fruit. And the seeds sown in the good soil stand for those who hear the message and understand it; they bear fruit, some as much as one hundred, others sixty, and others thirty.”

Lucifer and his evil angels pelted Jesus and His followers with weapons of disappointment, loss, and temptation. With the knowledge of God’s grace, each wound was miraculously healed and in it’ place grew a spiritual armor of protection.

Being aware of the inner, spiritual battle, we too can learn from life’s tragedies and find healing for our wounds when we place our faith in Jesus Christ, Superman, the Savior of the world. With each lesson learned, with each wound inflicted, we are being tailored an armor which will protect us, and defend us against Satan’s arrows of deceit.

Jesus Christ, Superman opened up a new way to view life separate from the teachings of the Pharisees. He allowed people to love all people. He revealed truths that are found in understanding that our world is more than the seen. We are at War doing battle against spiritual forces who want to defeat us in the greatest game that has ever been played.

I have an old picture, the only one that I have ever seen like it resides in the hystorical room in the San Grabriel Mission. Mine is in better condition…It is of the young Jesus in the temple. It has the original frame, although it has been re glasses once as many years ago my great-great grandfather broke during a move. How can I get this appraised and find a market for it. I live in Idaho an not many people around here would pay very much for such a piece of work.

Mr. Derp!!! asked:

This forum is flooded with off-topic questions, usually because posters in other forums note that there is a lot more traffic over here. They will often attempt to justify it by giving a sob-story or expressing some other sense of need or desperation.

Of course, posters here validate the behavior by responding, which of course only encourages it.

Is answering off-topic questions something that the jesus would want you to do, or would the wanderin’ carpenter tell these people to take their wares out of the temple?

21st Century Jesus

Ernie Fitzpatrick asked:

What we know we also deny when it gets down to the application. well, many do. Jesus came into the world some 2,000 years ago, give or take a week or so. Those who wrote of what He said, used language of their time- much of which doesn’t work all that well in today’s vernacular. The principle is the principle. Methods and terminology will vary but principles do not (a hermeneutical foundation). So, what’s that mean? Let me illustrate.

In John 14 we are told that in the Father’s HOUSE there are many mansions (or dwelling places). And Jesus says that He’s going to prepare a PLACE (one of those mansions) for us. Let’s just deal with these mansions and forget about the metaphorical streets of gold. Is God Spirit or material?  You know He’s Spirit lest we confine Him to one location, which Jesus was until resurrected.

The HOUSE is Father-Consciousness. (note the capital “C”).

The PLACES are “levels of consciousness”.

Jesus went to the Cross, through it, and back again showing us a NEW CONSCIOUSNESS- a new way of thinking and living. Consciousness and Spirit can substituted for each other if that makes you feel more comfortable; however, if Jesus were to come into the 21st century, into the world in 2008, He would NOT use the archaic LANGUAGE that we tie around our necks and try to swim in.

Let me give you MY definition of consciousness. I wrestled many years to come to thise definition. Ponder it, swallow it, or spit it out. ………..Consciousness is the eternal, timeless, immaterial essence of all humanity that originated in God, preceding birth and surviving death.

Behold Jesus (the incarnation is NOW as well as THEN) stands at the door (your consciousness) and knocks. Will you let Him (it) in? Will you travel deeper, further, higher, and into that place where THOUGHT has no power, no place. We begin by using our THINKING, bt we cannot end there. We’re told to give “no thought” (eventually). Try substituting modern terminology for 2,000 year old archaic words (letters that bring death) and embrace the spiritual principles (that bring life) and your world will be much improved.

People might even want to listen (the righteous religious probably won’t but the lost and searching will).  :-)
