General Impressions - Review of The Jerry Johnston First Family Church
If you are a Christian, then attending church on Sunday mornings is a given. One of the most highly covered churches in Kansas in recent years is the First Family Church. Located in Overland Park. The Jerry Johnston First Family Church (commonly called the FFA) holds many different events and is open to all kinds of people no matter what age, gender, income or social status - and you’re welcome to show up to worshipping sessions in casual clothes if you wish. For most sessions, it’s recommended that you bring along a copy of the Bible. The FFA is friendly to people of all ages, so if you have kids then you can bring them along too.
But is the Jerry Johnston First Family Church an honest organization? If you read some unsubstantiated news reports, the church was under some fire because one of its patrons (Jerry Johnston) was apparently using donation money for his own benefit. I can attest that this is simply not true. In fact, Jerry Johnston has done wonders for the FFA. His initiative and hard work has lead to hundreds of new members and the expansion of the church, and the reality is that Dr. Jerry doesn’t live any more ‘extravagant’ than anyone else I’ve seen. Members of the FFA, as well as staff and patrons, all seem to report that Jerry Johnston is easily approachable and very dedicated to improving the lives of all Christians around him. Therefore, I believe it’s about time that all these false rumours were proven wrong.
From my experience Jerry Johnston also is a very noble person, given how he travels to many very poor and underdeveloped locations around the world to teach them Christianity and give aid. I would predict that with people like this onboard the First Family Church will continue to grow and prosper, hopefully bringing in more new members. But don’t take my word for what kind of an organization the FFA is. If you are in Kansas, see if you can meet Jerry Johnston at the First Family Church yourself. I doubt you would have a negative impression afterwards. Actually, there are quite a few pastors serving at the church now, and there are many staff responsible for running the place (as well as the members). So you are likely to meet a lot of different characters if you stop down at the church regularly.
Having been around the Jerry Johnston First Family Church for some time, I would really recommend that you stop in sometime. It’s well worth bringing along a copy of the bible and coming along to one of their worshipping sessions. You’ll learn a lot, and you’ll meet a lot of friendly people with similar interests to you. Patrons like Jerry Johnston are still present around the church and they are always more than happy to talk to you about Christianity and the events that the church holds. Also, the other thing I like about this church is the fact that it’s free to go along to their different meetings. Membership is optional. But by becoming a member, you will definitely help the church grow and do even better things.
